A few minutes ago I heard my first Wood Thrush of the year singing in my back yard in Norris, Anderson County, TN. Both this afternoon and Sunday, April 9, I heard a few Pine Siskins in Norris. On both occasions they were with larger numbers of American Goldfinches. A couple hours before I heard the siskins on Sunday, I was birding on Sharp's Ridge in Knoxville with Steve and Rebecca Satterfield and a few others. Steve asked me if I had observed been observing any siskins lately, and I answered no. And then there they were when I got home to Norris.
