Sun, 1 March 2009, West Knox Co

The light snow flurries here in Knox Co brought out our biggest
number of Pine Siskins yet with about 150 scattered at all the
feeders, on the ground where I had scattered seed (counted 60
just in this spot), in the trees, in the coneflower bed, and
foraging throughout the yard and the neighbors' mulch bed.
Smashes our previous high count of 25.

Throw in our normal 15 or so Purple Finches, a Hermit Thrush,
and the rest of the normal feeder birds and it was quite a
spectacle.
