This is the photo showing an immature Whooping Crane flying side by side with a mature Sandhill Crane that was used in the presentation on the proposed Sandhill Crane hunting season. It was taken by Charles D. Dean. He said he was glad that his photos seems to have helped in the decision. The photo shows the danger of hunting sandhills when whooping cranes may be flying close to them with the possibility of killing a whooping crane.
