The pic didn’t come through. If it looks something like this Goldfinch, it’s
MG. The eyes get crusty and swollen to the point where the bird can’t see.
Because they can’t feed well and are vulnerable to predators, they soon die.
In 2008, we had many Goldfinches, House Finches and Purple Finches die of this
disease. Each year since then, there has been a decrease in the number of
diseased birds. Last year and this year, I haven’t seen any.
