This evening after work I found my FOS female MOURNING WARBLER in a
brushy area behind the barn. I managed to spish the bird in to about 4
feet, no binoculars needed. This species has become annual in my yard in
the Spring.
Also FOS, a nice a YELLOW-BELLIED FLYCATCHER was present in the same area
as a LEAST FLYCATCHER and several Acadian Flycatchers, giving a good
refresher course in empidonax ID.
This species has also become annual here with recent habitat improvements,
though still rare in the Spring. (They are fairly common here in September).
A PHILADELPHIA VIREO and a MAGNOLIA WARBLER were also present, both new
for the yard this season.
Good birding! Ruben Stoll, Centerville TN
