Hello Birders,
While sitting beside a window in the meeting room of the Bellevue Shoney's
(Hwy 70 at I-40) west of Nashville, Davidson County, I saw a peregrine falcon
land in a tree across the highway. It was a brilliant adult, and the sun was
shining on it so beautifully, it almost made the bird sparkle in the light.
All
the peregrine field marks were in view, and I pointed him out to a couple of
non-birders at my table who sucked in their collective breath in awe. Maybe
I'll make birders out of some of those folks yet!!

The bird had been "threatening" the crow that was flying in front of it until
the peregrine decided to perch in the top of a tree and take a breather. It
stayed for several minutes sort of surveying the countryside, then continued
on its flight to parts unknown. What a beauty! I am always impressed when I
see a peregrine.

Cheers & prayers,

Dee Thompson
Nashville, TN
