Operation Migration received a Partners in Conservation Award from the Dept
of Interior on May 7th presented by Secretary of the Interior, Ken Salasar
for their work in reintroducing the endangered whooping crane to the
eastern flyway. This is the highest civilian partnership award given by the
DOI.

It was a thrill for me to be in this auditorium full of diverse people who
work hard to support conservation in many ways. But I was especially
proud of Operation Migration's accomplishments in that they were the only
award
receipent whose efforts were entirely devoted to helping the recovery of
an endangered, migratory bird species.
