A pair of Common Mergansers were present on the Hiwassee River in Polk
County from March 25th through at least April 16th, 2016, on which date
copulating behavior was observed (male mounting the female) by Jamin and
Mathan Beachy.
The Beachy boys plan to find the nest if possible, and provide further
updates.
