Lyons Bend/Cove Island
Knox County

I spent about 4 1/2 walking around the neighborhood and Cove Island today.
Of the 68 species I saw, here are the most interesting:

Green Heron 1
Osprey 1
Bald Eagle 1
Red-shouldered Hawk 1

Lots of flcatchers around today:

Olive-sided Flycatcher ( in a dead tree at the corner of Houser and
Cove Island Roads at 3:00 pm; about a 1/2 mile from the place I saw
one on the 16th; while grooming, conveniently showed the white patch
behind wing, also calling ber-ber-ber)

Wood Pewee 5 (one in the dead tree with the Olive-sided Flycatcher
              for comparison)
Willow Flcatcher 1
Gr. Crested Flycatcher 3
Empidonax sp. 3

Swainson's Thrush 5

Cedar Waxwing 14 (lots of pairs giving berries to each other)

Tennessee Warbler 1
Magnolia Warbler 2
Pine Warbler 2
American Redstart 1
Northern Waterthrush 1 (seems late)
Common Yellowthroat 3 (nesting on Cove Island)
Wilson's Warbler 1
Canada Warbler 1
Yellow-breasted Chat 3 (nesting on Cove Island)
Scarlet Tanager 3

Then there are the ones that got away, like the Gull that passed over
as I was staring up at the O-S Flycatcher and the Sparrow
in the meadow at Cove Island and the Warbler I could not coax
out of the privet.... ;-(
