Today (Feb. 2) four long-tailed ducks were seen at Cherokee Dam (near Jefferson / Grainger Co. line). Take Hwy. 92 NW out of Jefferson City until you cross the bridge directly in front of the dam and take a right (convenience store here) soon after the bridge. Go a very short distance and take a right on to an unmarked road which shortly ends at a gate leading on to the levee forming a part of the dam. Walk out here and scan for the ducks which joined a small group of scaup. A scope is a necessity.
