Junior Maynard, who suffered injuries serving in WWII, has spent most of his time in veteran's hospitals since the war ended, but his aim is still true. The newspaper says he shot and killed a barn owl on his farm in Boma this week that had a wing-span of six feet. (Nov. 20, 1947) Now we know what happened to some of the barn owl population.
