Just a quick note, before leaving the area ~ 10:30 I took a walk between the peninsula and the "beach". There were 20+ Spotted Sandpipers in this stretch, many on the rocks by the shore, but some were also seemingly feeding on insects from the grass as much as 200 feet from the water. This is by far my high count for the area.
