May 28, 2005 I have lately been suffering from DHS (Dead Hard drive Syndrome) and have been unable to send e-mail conveniently. (No important bird data was lost when the old drive died, and I'm back online and better than before with a new computer.) (2 sites), May 18-20, 22); Spotted Sandpiper (Greene Co., May 15); Great Horned Owl (Greene Co. (1 site), May 18, 23); Least Flycatcher (8 (4 Hampton Creek Cove State Historic Area, 4 Roan Mountain), Carter Co., May 23); Willow Flycatcher (4, Hampton Creek Cove State Historic Area, Carter Co., May 23); Alder Flycatcher (2, Carver's Gap, Roan Mountain, Carter Co., May 23); Horned Lark (probable nesting species) (2, Baughard Hill Road, Greene Co., May 21); Cliff Swallow (75+, Easterly Bridge, Poplar Springs Road, Greene Co., May 21); Yellow-throated Vireo (hard-to-find summer resident) (Greene Co. (2 sites), May15, 22); Red-breasted Nuthatch (Camp Creek Bald, Greene Co., May 22); Swainson's Thrush (1-2, Greeneville, May 17-18); Golden-winged Warbler (at least 2, Hampton Creek Cove State Historic Area, Carter Co., May 23); Magnolia Warbler (Greeneville, May 21) (latest spring date I've ever recorded for this transient); Blackpoll Warbler (Greene Co. (several sites), May 15, 17-18, 20); Swainson's Warbler (Viking Mountain Road, Greene Co., May 22); Northern Waterthrush (Greene Co., May 22) (latest date I've ever recorded for this transient); Canada Warbler (10, Viking Mountain Road, Greene Co., May 22) (a high total for this summer resident); Summer Tanager (Greene Co. (2 sites), May 19, 21); Dickcissel (2-4, River Plantation, Greene Co., May 20-21, 23, 25); Pine Siskin (5, Carver's Gap, Roan Mountain, Carter Co., May 23).
