We caught and banded our first Saw-whet in Tennessee (Close to 1am, 11-23-02). We are set up at the foot of the Smokey Mountains, 45 min south of Knoxville and just north of The Great Smokey Mountains National Park in Blount County. We have been up and running for the past month trying to net about once a week, but we had no luck until now. Our patience and persistence paid off tonight! We also caught an Eastern Screech owl and a Phoebe.
