Richard Connors and I birded several areas of Percy Priest Lake today, and
although we didn't find the many species of ducks that Graham Gerdeman
found earlier in the week, we did have some nice birds. There was one
Osprey in flight and a soaring Northern Harrier, two large rafts of scaup
and one Blue-winged Teal, and Tree Swallows, Barn Swallows, and one Purple
Martin. It was especially nice to see breeding plumaged Common Loons,
Horned Grebes, and Bonaparte's Gulls. A singing Northern Parula was in the
closed picnic area down the road from Seven Points.
