I have observed a Cardinal feeding a young House Sparrow at my feeder a
number of times. The sparrow begged insistently, and the Cardinal would fly
over to it and cram a bit of food into its mouth, looking as if it wasn't
the least bit interested in the sparrow but just wanted it to shut up.
