Today, Libby Wolfe and I looked for waterfowl. Red-breasted Merganser and Lesser Scaup are still at Nickajack. Ruddy Duck is near Macedonia church on the lake across the highway from the dam on the east side. Redheads and Canvasbacks are back at Bennett Lake in the river channel near Hale's Bar. While scoping, I said, "Libby, that looks like a scoter." I told her where to look. She said," Oh, yeah! It just went under." I thought, "NO, it didn't." Then, up popped a "second" WHITE-WINGED SCOTER. A scope is necessary for viewing. The Scoters stayed close together. The location is across from the bait shop and out from the boat ramp looking towards Hale's Bar.
