This afternoon (8 Sept) we had a Ruby-throated Hummingbird which had flown into
our high bay at work while the door was raised and couldn't find it's way back
out. Not having a feeder handy to sit by the door, I tried sitting traffic
cones by the open door hoping the bird would come to them and find it's way out.

No luck there bit then I had another idea. I sat my iPhone by the door playing
the Ruby-throated Hummingbird track from the Stokes Eastern CD set at max
volume and on continuous repeat. Within a few minutes the trapped hummer flew
down from the 30-ft ceiling to investigate. The only problem was that it was so
interested in the phone that it wouldn't leave. I had to come over, shut the
iPod off, and shoo the bird out the door while my buddy James shut the door.
But SUCCESS!!

Oh, and on a side note, if you ever want to annoy your cat, play the Long-eared
Owl track. Particularly the bit in the middle. Mine is pestering me while I'm
trying to type this so about time for some revenge.
