Battling a stomach virus, the flu or who knows what, I was determined to
get out briefly to check Cove Lake State Park on New Years day. What a
great surprise as we found a MERLIN perched in the top of a Sycamore tree
by the lake! Great New Year's Day bird and also a first for me for Cove
Lake State Park and Campbell County.

We did not see the Eagles, but an immature Snow Goose is still present.
