I birded 2 miles of the North Boundary Trail Greenway on Oak Ridge DOE Reservation for an hour and a half this morning. Portion adjacent to Bear Creek and East Fork Poplar Creek (Roane County). Many migrants showing up in good numbers--most of them it appears are setting up territories. Some "mid-April" types still not here yet. 10 Warbler species/3 Vireos Here's my list with approximate numbers: NEOTROPICAL MIGRANTS: Blue-gray Gnatcatcher ~ 50 (always at least 2 within earshot) Wood Thrush 4 (first of year for here) Red-eyed Vireo 20 White-eyed Vireo ~35 (hard to count them all) YELLOW-THROATED VIREO 2 (first of year for here) BLUE-WINGED WARBLER 4 (Good looks at one--not a hybrid) (first of year) Northern Parula 20 CERULEAN WARBLER 1 (first of year) Yellow-throated Warbler 10 (good looks at one) (These I assume are all "Sycamore variety" given the habitat) PRAIRIE WARBLER 6 Pine Warbler 1 KENTUCKY WARBLER 6 (great looks at one) HOODED WARBLER 15 (first of year for me here) Common Yellowthroat 5 (first of year for here) NOT here at this site, BUT EXPECTED any day: Acadian Flycatcher Great Crested Flycatcher East.
