Hi all,
While Chattanooga TOS is not a formal host of this event, we wanted to promote
it in the local birding and natural history community. We also created it as an
event on the Chattanooga TOS Facebook page.
Acclaimed naturalist, birder, speaker and author Dr. J. Drew Lanham will speak
about his newest work, “The Home Place: Memoirs of a Colored Man’s Love Affair
with Nature”. Dr. Lanham’s recent work received the Reed Award, from the
Southern Environmental Law Center, as well as the Southern Book Prize,
according to his publisher. It was also a finalist for the John Burroughs
Medal, which recognizes excellence in natural history writing. He is a
professor of wildlife ecology and a Master Teacher at Clemson University.
