If you are in the Nashville area this Thursday, November 15, please join
the Nashville Chapter of the Tennessee Ornithological Society for our
monthly meeting and program at Radnor Lake State Park, 1160 Otter Creek
Rd., Nashville. We gather at 7:00 pm and the meeting starts at 7:15 pm. The
program is
Using eBird and Xeno-Canto data to Study Changes in Birdsong by Abigail
Searfoss
Vanderbilt graduate student Abigail Searfoss will be sharing her research
on birdsong. She uses citizen science data contributed by birders across
the country to study changes in birdsong over time and across geographic
ranges. She has focused on the chipping sparrow song in the past and is now
focusing on how urbanization affects birdsong and species diversity.
We’ll see you there!
