Saturday, April 25 - University School Marsh and Beaman Park

Today we'll combine some open marsh and riverside birding with some mature
forest birding for a good cross section of spring migration and breeders.
University School of Nashville has a nice boardwalk over a marsh off of
Briley Pkwy, and a trail running next to the Cumberland River. After birding
there, we'll head over to Beaman Park and walk its beautiful, shady
creekside trail in search of Worm-eating, Kentucky, and Yellow-throated
Warblers,
Ovenbird, Northern Parula, Louisiana Waterthrush, Acadian Flycatcher, and
Scarlet Tanager among many other species. This trip will last just the
morning, but bring a lunch so if we're hungry we can eat at the tables by the
creek. Meet at the Adventure Science Center (800 Fort Negley Blvd. 37203)
at 7:00 and we'll carpool from there. If you'd rather meet us at the
marsh, be there by 7:15. To get to the marsh take Briley Pkwy north from I-40
west of downtown. Get off at exit 25 and go east on County Hospital Rd..
The entrance is on the right as soon as you exit Briley Pkwy.
