If you are in the Nashville area this Thursday, May 18, please join the
Nashville Chapter of TOS at the Radnor Lake State Natural Area visitor's
center, 1160 Otter Creek Rd, Nashville for our monthly meeting and program.
We'll gather at 7:00 p.m. and the meeting starts at 7:15 p.m.
Dr. Michael Collins of Rhodes College will travel from Memphis for this
special program. Loggerhead Shrikes have declined precipitously in
Tennessee and across their range in the past 50 years. Dr. Collins is a
participant in a multi-entity Loggerhead Shrike Working Group working to
identify the causes of their decline, whether it be forest succession,
agricultural practices, or pesticide use. He will discuss his
preliminary research
examining site occupancy in Eastern Arkansas relating occupancy to
habitat-and-landscape-level features.
