We hope you can join us for our next field trip. All level of birders are
welcome. This month we have the added bonus of a variety of beautiful spring
wildflowers to look at!
March 30, 7:30 A.M., Beaman Park - Located in northwest Nashville near
Joelton. Barbara Harris, a regular volunteer at the park, will lead our group
from the Creekside Trailhead. This wild and rugged land is a unique treasure in
Nashville’s park system and features a Highland Rim forest, unique plant
associations and species, and a rugged landscape with steep slopes, narrow
hollows, and streams and waterfalls. The trails are technically graded
moderate, but for those with limited mobility there is a quarter mile loop at
the Nature Center ( 5911 W. Old Hickory Blvd.) that goes through the woods, and
the nature center has several feeders nearby and covered back porch that looks
into the woods. We will certainly see many of the native winter birds and we
may see some early spring migrants including Louisiana Waterthrush. Hope you
can come! (Contact information: tarcila@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
