If you are in the Nashville area this Thursday, July 19, please joint the
Nashville chapter of the Tennessee Ornithological Society for our monthly
meeting and program. We will gather at 7:00 p.m. and the meeting starts at
7:15 p.m. at Radnor Lake State Park, 1160 Otter Creek Rd., Nashville.
This month's program is *Birds of Columbia* by Dave Hawkins. In March of
this year Dave spent three weeks in Colombia, searching the Santa Marta
(northern area near the Caribbean) area photographing their renown and
plentiful endemics. Colombia is trying to recover from the drug cartel
control that crippled tourism for decades. There are both rare and
plentiful birds there but the infrastructure is still quite primitive.
If you have seen one of Dave's programs, you know what a treat this will
be (and I've previewed some of the new photos). Don't miss it!
