Just a heads up to anyone in and around Middle TN…
NTOS member Steve Routledge will be leading a field trip to the Duck River
Unit of TNWR on Saturday, November 9th. This is the last weekend before the
winter closure of most of the refuge roads for ‘sanctuary time’ so we hope
you’ll join the adventure.
We will be meeting and departing from Casey’s Gas Station and Convenience
Store, 540 Broadway Avenue (Hwy 70) at 7:30 am. (It’s next to the shopping
center where have previously met.) Get there a bit early to use the restroom
and purchase any snacks/drinks…we’d also like to carpool as much as possible.
We’ll spend at least ½ day at the refuge and possibly venture to New
Johnsonville SP if time permits. This trip is rain or shine since most of the
birding is done near or from vehicles.
If anyone has any questions give a holler! If not…safe travels and we’ll see
you on Saturday!
