[TN-Bird] NTOS Field Trip Saturday 04 December

Flank Battleground Park in Franklin (Williamson County), TN to see what
winter migrants and year-round resident birds may be present in the both the
open areas and wetland. We should anticipate good numbers of sparrows and
also expect to find Bluebirds, Woodpeckers, and Killdeer.  The wetland has
previously attracted Rusty Blackbirds on rare occasion.  We will walk on
paved areas and wet grass; some of the mowed areas of this former golf
course are no longer mowed, so wear appropriate foot wear.
We will meet at the Adventure Science Center lower lot at 7:30 a.m. and
carpool. For those who wish to meet at the park, you should arrive by 8:00
a.m. The park is located at the end of Carnton Lane off Lewisburg Pike.
Turn left at the cemetery and through the gates. This close-to-home field
trip, led by Danny Shelton, will last just the morning.
