We read Rick Knight's report of a female Common Merganser at Musick's
Campground in Sullivan County this afternoon and drove to look for it. At 5:05
p.m., we saw two of them, both females, paddling into the cove to the left of
what I think is the usual viewing spot. They disappeared behind the spit on
the near side of that cove and had not reappeared after several minutes. Maybe
they will be at that spot Wednesday morning. We appreciate Rick posting his
sighting, and we also appreciate Mrs. Musick allowing birders to access her
property.
