As I understood it, the criteria for a self-sustaining "wild" population was not whether they were feeding themselves -- if so we'd have to stop counting gulls and House Sparrows. I thought it meant self-sustaining from reproduction in the wild in the absence of new releases/escapes.
There are fairly large feral Muscovy populations in quite a few areas around he continent; I wouldn't be surprised if more of these become considered "established" in coming decades. But we are not close to that in Tennessee... yet.
