Bates, I saw a mourning warbler 3 years ago at Bench 20, in the brambles, at
Radnor Lake. I can’t remember the exact date. Jackie Corbin

Bates,
NTOS has Wednesday morning walks at Radnor at 7:30 between April 17th through
May 8th. Birders will meet at the nature center. You should know that Mourning
and Connecticut Warblers are extremely tricky to see as they are generally in
dense brush on the ground. If you strike out my recommendation would be to make
a mid-May pilgrimage to NW Ohio and visit the biggest week in birding at Magee
Marsh. The probability of seeing them there is much higher and even if you dip
on them you will have one of the best birding experiences that can be had in
North America.

Advice/direction needed.
I still need Mourning and Connecticut warblers for my life list and would like
some suggestions for where and when is best to attempt to find them. From
eBird I see that the most numerous records are from Radnor Lake and Shelby
Bottoms in early May. If that is the case, where would be the best spots at
those two (large) locations to start looking?
Also, are there any planned group (NTOS?) outings to look for those species?
I'd love to go out with a group.
Thanks.
