The mourning warbler was seen this afternoon in Blount County around 6:20. Let
me clarify Harumi’s post on location. This spot is in the Benson Springs Park
off Montvale Station Rd, not close to the greenway in downtown Maryville.
Once you go into the park there is a large pavilion. Park here. Go on path
that dead ends into the mail paved trail that parallels the creek. Turn left
and walk 30 yards or so west (away from Maryville).
There is a small creek flowing into the main creek. This is the spot. Lots of
passerines coming down to get water at this spot. Bird did not call. We all
got good looks along with a Wilson’s warbler that came in at the same time.
