Spent 3 hours at the double pulloff hawkwatching spot on Foothills Parkway in
Blount County today from 11:00 - 2:00. Three other local birders were already
there and a couple from Nashville visited for a bit. We had 24 Broad-winged
hawks, a possible Red-shouldered, a Red-tailed, and an American kestrel during
that time. About 20 BWs were seen before I arrived. After everyone left I
checked out some pulloffs further West and like yesterday, had more hawks
(sorry guys). From 2:30 to 4:15 I saw 203 more Broad-wings and 2 local
Red-tails. Most were at the 2nd pulloff West of Look Rock. There was 1 large
group of 142. They were mostly fairly high over the ridgeSent from my Virgin
Mobile Phone.
