Hey TNBirders,
The Mississippi Ornithological Society is having their bi-annual meeting this
year in Corinth, MS (relatively close to western TN), and we wanted to extend
our invitation over the state line. The meeting will be held September 21-23.
After two years of working on the possibility, we are very lucky to have Scott
Weidensaul <http://www.scottweidensaul.com/biographical-information/> as our
invited speaker for the meeting. Weidensaul spearheads a number of major
research projects focusing on owls, hummingbirds, and songbirds. He has written
more than two dozen books on natural history, including Living on the Wind:
Across the Hemisphere with Migratory Birds, a Pulitzer Prize finalist; The
Ghost with Trembling Wings, about the search for species that may or may not be
extinct; Of a Feather: A Brief History of American Birding; and the Peterson
Reference Guide to Owls. Field trips will include Tishomingo State Park, J.P.
Coleman State Park, Pickwick Lake, and others. Registration can be done at:

join us for a great meeting!
Hope to see some of y’all there!
