Hello, I made a loop through western Greene Co. this afternoon (12-23) ...and recorded 40 species. The Juacine-Bible refuge is closed til March...to let the ducks rest up, so my waterfowl numbers were down. I had a good day with woodpeckers and hawks! I had six woodpecker species...missed only the Hairy....with Red-headed at two locations, Smelcer Rd and Sapp Rd. The Merlin was perched on a pole on Hwy 340...and waited for me to stop before he flew....giving me a good look with my 7X35 's. Other highlights, 2 C.Snipe, 35 Hornlarks flying over, 45 pipits off Murray-bridge Rd and two Purple Finch. Keep on brdn!
