Birding has been pretty much abysmal in our west Knox Co yard this spring but showing a few signs of life over the weekend and Monday morning (26 April) has been the best day yet (but still slow relative to past years). FINALLY had our first Ruby-throated Hummingbird on Saturday (24 April) Monday, 26 April in the backyard: Baltimore Oriole, 1 female, FOY Rose-breasted Grosbeak, 1 singing male (FOY for yard) Blue-headed Vireo, 1 (Myrtle) Yellow-rumped Warbler, 3-4 Hooded Warbler, 1 singing male CERULEAN WARBLER, 2 males doing their version of "Dueling Banjos", FOY Then a MERLIN buzzed through and shut things down signaling that it was time to get to work.
