Backbone Rock Shady Valley Johnson County, TN During a breeding bird mini-survey along TN Rt. 133 today (6/9) we again encountered juncos singing at low elevations along Beaverdam Stream. Also we had a low elevation Canada Warbler singing. The junco was singing down to 2,220 feet while the Canada Warbler was at 2,350. The birds were heard by Wallace Coffey, Ron Harrington and Chris O'Bryan. Both species have been at the same locations for several seasons. The junco was first found here 8 June 1997 by John Shumate, Wallace Coffey, Geoff Larsen, Ron Carrico and Rob Biller. Andy Jones had a Canada Warbler in the same vicinity at 2,290 feet elevation on 16 June 1996. Let's go birding.....
