[TN-Bird] Louisville Point Park - Bald Eagle, Brown-headed Nuthatches

At Louisville Point Park in Blount County, TN this morning I observed at least 
four Brown-headed Nuthatches (probably more but that was all I managed to see 
at one time).  At least two of them judging by their behavior were recent 
fledglings as they were following an adult, fluttering their wings, and just 
generally acting like fledglings.

 

An immature Bald Eagle paid a visit, soaring over the water.

 

An adult male Orchard Oriole was low in the ivy on a tree trunk; later heard 
one singing.

 

And on a sad note, a dead young Great Blue Heron was on the ground at the base 
of their nest tree.  Another was standing in the nest.

 

Three Double Crested Cormorants were across the water, drying their wings.

 

Although it was nearly 10 when I got there it was very pleasant with a cool 
breeze blowing off the water at the point.
