Memphis, TN

On Saturday, all I could find was a pair hanging out on the covered pits at
the treatment plant. I arrived late after starting the day over in AR and
the swamp north of Coro Lake is just about dry so no birds there either. On
Sunday, there were 8 birds on TVA Lake in the morning but had left by my
return at 11:30. Two more pairs were found, one at the "Pits" and another
hiding in the Horn Lake slough and borrow pits that parallel Riverport Road.

It appears at least 4 pairs of Black-bellied have formed from the group of
14, so we probably, with any luck, are going to have a bumper crop this
year of Whistling Ducks but you will have to search them out. We need rain.
Now if I can only find where the Fulvous Whistlers went??

Western Kingbirds and Scissor-tailed Flycatchers are feeding young and soon
they will disperse and quickly. I've located two more nests of Westerns
where they are still setting eggs. Sixteen nest and counting.........
Good Birding !!!
