On August 26, 2008, I located a Pectoral Sandpiper at the "Pits" in Ensley
Bottoms, Shelby Co. TN, that sported a array of colored bands and a green
flag. I took a series of photos and sent the info to USGS. I get quite a few
banded Wind Birds at Memphis and each holds some surprise as to what
country or locations from which they find their way to Memphis.

Today a got a report on this Pectoral. It was banded exactly 2 months to
the day from my finding it, 6-26-2008, by Dr. Bart Kempenaers of Seewiesen
Germany at Barrow, North Slope Borough, AK. A fine, quick, long journey for
an adult female on its way to South America and stopping by for a visit at
the "Pits".
