11/19/05 Reelfoot Lake Lake Co. Jeff Wilson called this afternoon, with TWO Little Gulls amongst a large number of Bonaparte's Gulls coming to roost on Reelfoot Lake. He observed these birds from the 1st public boat launch east of the washout area. This is in the Blue Bank area as shown on the DeLorme. The 1st Little that Jeff picked up was a basic-plumage adult, and then another came in, apparently a 1st-winter bird. Jeff is staying up there overnight, and we'll be looking for the birds again tomorrow. On another note, I was part of a joint NTOS/Clarksville Audubon field trip to the KY Lake area. In case anyone is going that way tomorrow, among the highlights was an immature Red-throated Loon early in the day out from Rocky Point (Big Sandy Unit, TNWR in Henry Co.) and a very silvery-naped Pacific Loon late in afternoon from Trailer Rd. (Henry Co.). The Red-throated played hide-and-seek, but the Pacific was cooperative, if distant. Lots of loons to go through again. Also, the American Golden-Plover lingers at Lick Creek (Benton Co.)
