Yesterday I saw a leucistic Red-tailed hawk on the east side of Roberts Rd near
the intersection with Bud Hawkins Rd in Knox County west of House Mountain Rec
Area. It was perched high in a large tree out in the open. At first I thought
it might be a Great Egret it was so bright white. I pulled over at a small
inclined gravel pulloff on Bud Hawkins Rd to view. The underside of the tail
was light reddish almost like normal and there were black spots near the wing
tips. The rest of the bird that I could see was completely white as far as I
remember. Gorgeous bird but of course, no camera with me.Shane Williams
