Hi Folks I went to Kyker Bottoms in Blount County on Sunday morning April 12 for about an hour to do a little birding. Kyker is located off route 129 in the south west part of the county. Very good directions are on the TOS website. It was pretty wet there and I wasn't equipped to do much walking in the mud but I saw some good birds. I had Blue-winged Teal, Canada Geese, Sora (heard calling couple of times but never actually saw the bird), Killdeer, lots of Tree swallows and Barn Swallows, Blue-gray Gnatcatchers, Eastern Bluebirds, Blue Jays, White-eyed Vireos, Common Yellowthroats- several singing, Eastern Towhees, American Goldfinches, White-crowned Sparrows, many singing Field Sparrows, Swamp Sparrows and many Red-winged Blackbirds.
