Hi folks, A couple people have asked me for more info on Kyker Bottoms in Blount County. I just want to remind folks that you cannot actually go onto the refuge this time of year. I believe it opens back up to the public on Feb 14. Meanwhile, I just pull into the lots and stay with my car. I do not walk at all, and I request that everyone help Bill Smith, the manager, by following the rules. He has done a great job out there with minimal assistance, and I'd hate for us to make his job harder. Right now an active member of TOS is working on a write up and bird list for Kyker, which several people are editing. (I don't know if this person wants his/her name announced on this project yet) I'm sure it will be very useful to us all once finished and posted on the TOS website.
