One thing I forgot to mention is that we will about double our previous record for American Coot (was 1398 on the 1975-6 count) thanks to the large number of coots hanging around the Solway area on Melton Hill Lake (Knox/Anderson Co line). Several good ducks have been spotted hiding in the group as well, and at least one adult Bald Eagle seems to be treating it as an all-you-can-eat buffet. Best viewing is usually from the boat launch on Edgemoor Rd off of Pellissippi Parkway in Anderson Co unless the group has moved upstream around the point at Haw Ridge Park. Would be good to have a scope.
