Notice there was no mention of Bank Swallows here. I haven't had an opportunity to make it out to this area this spring. There is a traditional colony in the mine tailings across the road from the industrial park and, in the past, Bank Swallows could often be found found foraging in the grasslands here. The mine has been out of operation for some time and the colony seems to have been thinning out but I've still had a few here the last few years. I have not had a good opportunity to check the colony at New Market in Jefferson County this year either.
