I birded TVA's Kingston Steam or Fossil Plant in Kingston, Roane County, TN
on Aug 5, 2005 from 10:23 to 12:17. I saw the following shorebirds:
1. Least Sandpipers- about 5
2. Killdeer
3. three unidentified peeps- probably westerns
4. Stilt Sandpiper- 1- Identified by size as compared to a killdeer, its
feeding behavior (its tail was facing up to the sky as it fed), long legs,
long bill that was slightly drooped, and plumage which looked like a
breeding bird in molt.
