We were at Kingston Steam Plant in Roane County today, Monday, from 5:30 p.m.
until 8:35. Except for two Caspian Terns, we did not see any unusual birds for
the time of year. There were about 60 sandpipers on the flats of the big pond,
mostly White-rumped, several Semi-palmated, and a very few Baird's. About one
third that many were at the upper ponds.
The Caspians stayed on the flat except for a few minutes over the river. At
8:30, they flew out of sight to the northeast.
