The best birding day of the year happened on Sharp's Ridge this morning and was
well attended by 44 avid birders, 19 of whom came from Tellico Village bird
club.
We had many waves of birds, starting around 9AM. The list included many
warblers, heard and seen. 17 Was the final number of warbler species. Total
birds were 45 species.
Highlights included many blackburnians, balckpolls, black-throated green
warblers. We had a swainson's thrush in the road that provided good views by
many birders.
All in all it was a terrific morning, a great way to show that spring migration
has gotten started in Knox County.
