Sunday, May 27, 7:30 a.m.
Frozen Head State Park
Leader: David Trently (dtrently@xxxxxxx); 865-531-1473
Meet at the Stokely Building parking lot on North Cedar Bluff in west
Knoxville before 7:30 a.m.
It's about an hour drive to the park, so this is actually a bit late to start,
but I hope that more birders will take part by leaving at this time.
Bring lunch - we will still be in the park at lunch time. Bringing a chair is
recommended as there may be few picnic tables available since it is Memorial
Day weekend.
We will be walking fairly easy trails, listening for Acadian Flycatcher,
warblers (Ovenbird, Worm-eating, Cerulean and Hooded are among the
possibilities) and tanagers.
Other birds we will try for in the area include Willow Flycatcher and Orchard
Oriole.
You can also meet us around 8:30 at a large pond just off highway 62 - less
than a tenth of a mile from the turn off 62 onto Flat Fork Road. See the TOS
website for more information:
